El Hogar, The Home of Love and Hope, Honduras
Financial support and sponsorships for children to provide a home, food, education, medical cared and job training
El Hogar provides a loving home and education in a Christian environment for over 200 abandoned, orphaned and hopelessly poor children in Honduras, the second poorest country in the Western Hemisphere. The children range from 5-18 years old, and receive schooling and a job skills education that provides them an opportunity to fulfill their potential as productive human beings in Honduras. Good Shepherd and individual parishioners support El Hogar by providing sponsorships for individual children.

El Hogar's website is www.elhogar.org.

Good Shepherd provides a sponsorship for Nelson Lazo, a student at the El Hogar Technical Institute who along with his academics is learning carpentry. This $1500 sponsorship provides funds for housing, food, clothing, medical, and education costs. Any amount you can contribute towards Nelson's sponsorship would be greatly appreciated.
A mission team went to El Hogar this summer and sent back daily postings on the Good Shepherd Blog. Click here to read about the trip.
