While we at COGS have the resources to celebrate Christmas with gift-giving, many in our community do not. To reach out to these people, the congregation of COGS provided a total of 99 Christmas boxes supporting three local organizations. Boxes were distributed to 31 residents of the Northern Virginia Training Center, 35 gift boxes to Jubilee Housing Youth Services, and 33 gift boxes to children of Our Daily Bread. Our preschool families provided 78 dozen cookies for the boxes. The Mom’s Group provided several hundred dollars in of gift cards to be included in the boxes. Our parishioners were extremely generous in their giving. Many picked up two or more tags to provide for multiple boxes. Church volunteers delivered the boxes to the three different groups.
