Good Shepherd blood drives for Inova are held to help provide safe and adequate blood supply for the community. Inova Blood Donor Services is a major supplier of blood in the Washington, DC, metropolitan area. They routinely supply blood and blood components to the following hospitals and medical centers: Inova Alexandria Hospital, Inova Fairfax Hospital, Inova Fairfax Hospital for Children, Inova Fair Oaks Hospital, Inova Mount Vernon Hospital, Inova Loudoun Hospital, Montgomery General Hospital, Potomac Hospital, Prince William Hospital, Sibley Memorial Hospital, Suburban Memorial Hospital. Virginia Hospital Center and Walter Reed Army Medical Center Bethesda. They also share with other area hospitals in the Washington metro area on an as-needed basis.

COGS held three blood drives in 2012, collecting from 122 willing donors. Blood drives are scheduled for March 10th, May 12 and October 27, 2013.
