My husband Jim, daughter Virginia (almost 8), and I have been members of Good Shepherd since 2001. I have been an Episcopalian for most of my life. I am currently Assistant Budget Director for Academic Programs in George Mason University's central Office of Budget and Planning and have worked at GMU in finance and HR areas for almost 10 years. I have been involved in the following activities here at Good Shepherd: Stewardship Committee, Good Shepherd Players (Board member for 4 years), Mom's Group (okay, I go mainly for the spa days!), Long Range Planning Commission, Companions in Christ, Celebration Supper Groups, Senior Choir, Motet, and Expansion Committee. For those of you who have not yet become involved, I urge you to find a group where you can serve or share - what a terrific experience and a great opportunity for sharing your spirit! These activities combine a mix of dedication and celebration, family activities and individual spiritual growth, and large and small group interactions that help define what I see as special about this congregation. By continuing to nurture spiritual discernment, joy and love of Christ and the wonderful interactions among the members, I think Good Shepherd will continue to thrive and grow in spirit. I would like to be a part of that by serving on the vestry. Thank you for your consideration. |
