Good Shepherd Preschool

Since 1970, Good Shepherd Preschool has been committed to building children's confidence through exploration and discovery in a nurturing environment. The Preschool acknowledges the important effect that the early years have on a child's total development, and it endeavors to motivate children to anticipate future school experiences with enthusiasm and confidence. Throughout their day with us, children will participate in activities related to reading readiness, math concepts, science, social studies, music, arts and crafts, aerobics, and creative play.
We invite you to call or visit our Preschool any time to obtain further information from Joan Barker, Director, at 703-323-6120.

Church of the Good Shepherd Preschool
 Parent Survey Responses

"Here's what I think is really unique about Good Shepherd: 1. How calm the environment is  -  all children arrive and leave at the same time, the large middle room allows for siblings and indoor play while maintaining the quiet classroom atmosphere. 2. How friendly and welcoming it is  -  Everyone smiles, says hi to parents, siblings, and visitors and it seems almost everyone knows your name (very unique). 3. The emphasis is truly on learning and socialization necessary for kindergarten vs a daycare/preschool for children."

"I have been satisfied with the programs you offer. The 3 - day preschool was age - appropriate for my "young" 4 year olds and the 5 - day transition class is just right for the year before kindergarten."

"I have been wonderfully impressed with the program (s), staff and facilities at Good Shepherd."

"Your program has been great for Bryan  -  he is enjoying school so much. Thank you!"

"What I love about Good Shepherd is that it is not a day - care facility masquerading as a preschool."

"We love our Good Shepherd Preschool."

"One thing I really love about Good Shepherd Preschool is that its curriculum is geared toward preschool - age children. During my tour I was glad to see that there were no changing tables or rocking chairs  -  it was clearly a preschool, not a day care facility."
