Advent Retreat

Our annual Advent Retreat takes place on a Saturday in Advent at Virginia Theological Seminary. Our 2006 topic is "Exploring Advent and Christmas Scriptures,” and will be led by the Rev. Megan E. Stewart-Sicking. We will explore different ways of engaging these Scriptures from the use of imagination taught by Ignatius of Loyola to Lectio Divina and praying with Scripture as taught by many monastics including Guigo the Carthusian. Come learn what the Bible really says about the birth of Jesus as we explore several Advent and Christmas readings.
